I am very sad to report that Sister Portia Hawley peacefully passed away on December 29, 2010 from an apparent heart attack. She had no pain and no symptoms as she just passed out and was taken to that place best described in Alma 40:12.. She was 66 years and one month old. She loved the Lord and loved the missionaries and her mission. I submit she had proved herself in this mortal probation and the Lord called her home, having passed this test we call mortality. Perhaps. she just got her final transfer to a new field of labor. Portia knew how to live according to celestial law and she possessed charity, that great gift promised to those who love the Lord and repent and come unto Him. She is sorely missed by her five children and 14 grandchildren and myself. Her funeral was held on January 4th with burial in the Orem City Cemetery. Oh, Dear Portia, how much I do love you!
